Helen-Jane Howells

Soprano

British soprano Helen-Jane Howells trained at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama and the Royal College of Music where she was the recipient of a number of prizes and awards.

Helen-Jane sang Eve in Jonathan Kent’s production of The Fairy Queen for Glyndebourne Festival Opera in 2009, recently reprising the role with Les Arts Florissants and William Christie at the Opéra Comique and Théâtre de Caen.

In concert she has appeared with Florilegium and The London Mozart Players as well as many British choral societies singing Purcell, Bach, Handel, Haydn, Mozart, Schubert and Vaughan Williams. Also a keen recitalist, Helen-Jane has a wide repertoire of English and American Song, Lieder and Mélodies.

Amongst her future plans are further performances of The Fairy Queen at Brooklyn Academy of Music, New York, Pergolesi Salve Regina and Stabat Mater with Florilegium and Amore L’Incoronazione di Poppea for Glyndebourne on Tour.
