Joan Martín-RoyoBaritoneJoan Martín-Royo is quickly building and eye-catching opera career with roles at the Gran Teatro Liceu in his native Barcelona, Palau de les Arts de Valencia, La Monnaie, Teatro Carlo Felice, Genova, Théâtre du Châtelet, Teatro Regio di Parma, Opéra de Monte Carlo and Teatro Municipal de Santiago, Chile. On the concert platform he has enjoyed appearances with The Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, Al Ayre Español, Nederlands Radio Kamer Filharmonie, Ensemble Matheus and the Hungarian Radio Orchestra. A keen recitalist, Martín-Royo has collaborated with distinguished accompanists such as Helmut Deutsch, Dalton Baldwin and Roger Vignoles performing Schubert, Wolf, Loewe, Beethoven, Ibert, Ravel, Poulenc and Montsalvatge. Amongst Joan Martín-Royo’s 09/10 projects are Masetto Don Giovanni and Il Re Ariodante for Òpera de Oviedo; Don Quijote El Retablo de Maese Pedro at La Monnaie, Figaro and Guglielmo Cosi fan Tutte at the Théâtre des Champs Elysées.
