Robert MacdonaldBassRobert Macdonald was a choral scholar at Christchurch College, Oxford and trained at the Royal Academy of Music. He is a member of The Hilliard Ensemble, The Tallis Scholars, The Cardinall’s Music and The Clerks’ Group. On the concert platform, he has sung with The Monteverdi Choir / John Eliot Gardiner, the London Handel Festival / Lawrence Cummings, The London Mozart Players / Raymond Leppard and the BBC Philharmonic / Harry Christophers. His repertoire encompasses the major works of Bach Handel, Purcell, Haydn and Tippet. He has performed the roles of Il Tempo Il Ritorno d’Ulisse in Patria at the Teatro Sao Carlos, Lisbon and Sarastro Die Zauberflöte at the Brighton Festival and he includes Commendatore Don Giovanni and The Abbot Curlew River in his repertoire. Robert Macdonald’s recent recordings include the Monteverdi Vespers with The King’s Consort and lute songs by Henry Lawes with Elizabeth Kenny for Hyperion. Representation: Worldwide
