Robert MacdonaldBassRobert Macdonald was a choral scholar at Christchurch College, Oxford and trained at the Royal Academy of Music. He is a member of The Hilliard Ensemble, The Tallis Scholars, The Cardinall’s Music and The Clerks’ Group. On the concert platform as soloist he has sung with The Monteverdi Choir / John Eliot Gardiner, Ulster Orchestra / David Hill, The London Mozart Players / Raymond Leppard, Manchester Camerata / Nicholas Kraemer and the BBC Philharmonic / Harry Christophers. His repertoire encompasses the major works of Bach, Handel, Purcell, Haydn and Tippet. He has performed the roles of Il Tempo Il Ritorno d’Ulisse in Patria at the Teatro Sao Carlos, Lisbon and Sarastro Die Zauberflöte at the Brighton Festival and he includes Commendatore Don Giovanni and The Abbot Curlew River in his repertoire.
