Samuel BodenTenorBritish tenor Samuel Boden began his professional career as a chef and then went on to train with John Wakefield at Trinity College of Music. He now studies with Tim Evans-Jones. Samuel has sung Afinomo The Return of Ulysses for English National Opera, Prologue and Quint Turn of the Screw in Mexico City, Tamino Die Zauberflöte, Opera de Baugé and Der Knirps in Henze Das Wundertheater and Billy in Kurt Weill Mahagonny Songspiel, both for the Cantiere d’arte di Montepulciano. He sang Tony in the 50th Anniversary World Tour of West Side Story for Sundance Productions. On the concert platform Samuel has sung Purcell at the Chaise Dieu Festival/Paul McCreesh, Bach, Carissimi and Charpentier with Ex Cathedra/Jeffrey Skidmore and he has recorded Monteverdi Vespers 1610 with the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment/Robert Howarth. In recital he has appeared with The Young Songmaker’s Almanac at St John’s Smith Square and at Leeds Lieder Plus. Amongst Samuel’s 11/12 season engagements are a staging of the St Matthew Passion with the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment/Suzi Digby, and debuts with the Northern Sinfonia/Thomas Zehetmair, Les Arts Florissants/Jonathan Cohen and the Kristiansand Symphony Orchestra/Nicholas Kraemer.
