Opera director Harry Fehr returns to Blackheath Halls Opera to direct Carmen with a cast of professionals performing alongside members of the community in South East London. Fehr’s previous productions with the group have been enthusiastically received: his Cavalleria Rusticana was “a production that had real clarity to the story telling … A fine achievement’ (Planet Hugill) whilst according to Opera Now his Semele staging “… by any standards, was a great evening … funny, sad, beautiful and deep. … well directed by Harry Fehr.” The Carmen performances are scheduled at Blackheath Halls on September 20 (pm) , 22, 23, 25 & 27 (pm). Chris Stark conducts.
