Harry Fehr directs a rare staging of Vaughan Williams Sir John in Love for British Youth Opera. There are performances at Opera Holland Park, London on August 24, 25, 26 & 27. Designed by Nate Gibson with lighting by Chumba Emembolu the shows will be conducted by Marit Strindlund. This is the fourth opera based on Shakespeare’s The Merry Wives of Windsor with which Fehr has been involved: He directed the Chinese premier of Verdi Falstaff for the Shanghai Opera House, Nicolai Die Lustigen Weiber von Windsor at the Guildhall School of Music and assisted on Salieri Falstaff earlier in this career.
