Director Harry Fehr’s  production of Cavalleria Rusticana for Blackheath Halls Opera opens on September 23 with a brief run to September 29. Fehr has a long term commitment to the work of this amazing community opera company. His production of Handel Semele last year was enthusiastically received: “this, by any standards, was a great evening, really getting towards the core of Handel’s great oratorio-opera about the vanity of human hope, funny, sad, beautiful and deep. … well directed by Harry Fehr.“ Opera Now. Fehr will make his English National Opera directorial début with a production of L’elisir d’amore with performances between November 15 and December 5.
