As part of the Bath Festival’s Handel celebrations Robert Howarth directs a programme of Handel arias and orchestral pieces to accompany Richard Williams’ reconstruction of the Battle of Quiberon Bay of 1759 between France and Great Britain. Billed as ‘a witty new operatic and naval extravaganza’ the orchestra, chorus, singers and  actors will be joined by  Portsmouth Model Boat Display Team at the Roman Baths to re-enact the event. The performances on May 26 and 27 have proved very popular with tickets extremely hard to come by!
